Torrential downpour in Bangladesh has required the administrators to reschedule the 2016 model of Bangladesh Top League (BPL), that may now start afresh from Tuesday (November 8).
Rain beaten up the first four fits of the fourth model of the home Twenty20 category, on Fri (November 4) and Saturday (November 5) respectively, although it also threatened to destroy Sunday’s dual header. The non-seasonal showers, the effect of a unhappiness in the Bay of Bengal, until Mon was forecast to previous, forcing the BPL regulating council to restart the tournament from Wednesday.
According to the BPL:
Regarding to Ismail Haider Mallick, the secretary of BPL, the tournament will follow the sooner routine for the suits beginning with November 8. However, Comilla Victorians, the defending champions, will probably play the first match on the rescheduled opening day rather than the second.
“We have a weather report which has a forecast for additional rainwater for another two days. So far not a solo ball has been bowled in the tournament because of the rain. The November 5 and 6 suits have decided to postpone. On November 8 according to the prevailing agenda we now want to carry our first match. The November 5 and 6 matches in the others days in your fixtures list will reschedule,” Mallick said.
The four complements which were planned for November 5 and 6 will tend to be enjoyed on the off-days. The two matches that were abandoned on the opening day – Comilla Victorians versus Rajshahi Kings and Khulna Titans versus Rangpur Riders – may be replayed at a later date if the teafms unanimously agree for such a move.
“Based on the bylaws, we can make the November 4 matches into rematches only when the franchises agree to it. Rangpur and Khulna have agreed for the rematch but we don’t possess a choice from Comilla and Rajshahi, who had been the teams in the tournament’s first match,” Mallick said of the abandoned matches.
“We will attempt to reassign the five or six suits on November 10 and 14 and, if need be, we will carry three complements in a full day. 20 is also a choice for the rescheduled matches november,” he added.
According to the Bangladesh Cricket Mother board (BCB) website, the revised plan will quickly be declared.
